Coach DeBeck has been coaching at Husson University since 1999.
He directed the program to three 20 win seasons (2004, 2005, and
2007), made league playoffs six straight years, quarter-finals five
years and finals two years. Volleyball has a 90-49 record as a NCAA
III program.
Coach DeBeck was born in Eddington, Maine where he learned to play
volleyball at the age of 15, and he since has been playing
competitively throughout New England. He attended the University of
Maine, where he played club volleyball for two years.
He is a member of the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaching
Association) and NEWVA (New England Women’s Volleyball
Association). In addition, he is the volleyball NCAA III Regional
representative for the North Atlantic Conference and coach’s
representative for the North Atlantic Conference to the AVCA.
Coach Armstrong joined the volleyball program in July 2009. She will assist Head Coach Pat Debeck and work with the hitters.
Coach Armstrong has three years of Division I playing experience as one of U. Maine Orono top players over the last three seasons. She was named to the American East Academic Honor Roll. U. Maine Orono dropped their volleyball program allowing her to join the Eagles staff. This is her first opportunity to coach at the college level.
During the summer she is an assistant coach for the High Performance Volleyball program in New York. Coach Armstrong helped coach selects (age 14 and under), youth (age 15-16), and juniors (17-18). She traveled with the junior team to coach them at the National Championships in Florida.
Coach Armstrong is finishing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts / Elementary Education. She was a 3.5 Presidential Pin Award winner in the fall of 2008.
She is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and currently resides in Orono.
Coach Jean DeBeck joined the volleyball staff in 2001. The
mother of head coach Pat DeBeck, she has been playing volleyball
for 19 years and is a regular in local leagues and playing in
statewide tournaments.
Coach DeBeck has owned and operated her own horse stable, J.D.
Farms for 40 years. Coach DeBeck resides in Eddington.
