Husson Finishes Second In NAC Volleyball Tournament
Castine, Maine Husson University lost to Maine Maritime Academy in the North Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship to claim second place in the NAC. Husson University beat Castleton 3-1 but fell to Maine Maritime 3-0 in the championship.

McKay, Kish and Olstad Selected to NAC All Conference Volleyball Team
Husson will have the support of three North Atlantic Conference (NAC) All Conference team members as they take on Castleton in the NAC semifinals on November 7. Kaitlyn McKay (So., Lincoln, RI) was named to the NAC First Team All conference. Hannah Olstad (Fy., Farmington, NH) and Marion Kish (Sr., Wallingford, CT) were selected to the NAC Second Team All Conference.

Husson Falls to Colby 1-3
Bangor, ME The Husson University Eagles ended the regular season dropping a 1-4 match to the Colby College Mules. With the loss, Husson falls to 13-14 and Colby ends their season with a record of (8-16). Husson finished second in the North Atlantic Conference and will play in the NAC semifinals on November 7.

Husson Volleyball Splits 1-1
Husson University fell to Worchester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and won against Eastern Nazerene. The Eagles lost to WPI in three straight games (25-11, 25-19, and 25-16). The Engineers offense was led by Kim Woodward (Clifton Park, NY) recording nine aces and two kills, while Belinda Nwagbara (Santa Rosa, CA) combined four aces with eight kills. The Engineers would combine for a total of 26 kills and 29 aces, as the Eagles finished with 13 kills and 2 aces.

Eagles Sweep Thomas 3-0
Bangor, ME Husson University swept Thomas College 3-0 in tonights North Atlantic Conference Volleyball match. Game scores were 25-11, 25-15, 25-15. With the win, the Eagles improve to 12-12 (6-1 conf.) and the Terriers fall to 6-12 (1-5 conf).

Eagles Breeze By Huskies 3-0
The Husson Eagles swept the Universtiy of Southern Maine Huskies 3-0 (25-18, 25-16,25-21). With the win, the Eagles improve to 11-12 on the season while the Huskies fall to 4-13. The evenings games were played with a Dig Pink theme in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Castine, Maine - The Husson University Eagles swept the U. Maine Farmington Beavers 3-0 to secure a big North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win. Game scores were 29-27, 25-12, 25-8. With the win Husson improves to8-8-2 (3-0-2 conf.).

Bangor, ME - The Husson University Eagles played host to the St. Josephs College Monks and dropped a 1-3 series at Hussons Newman Gymnasium. Game scores for the match were 24-26, 25-15, 23-25, 15-25. With the loss, Husson falls to 9-12 while St. Josephs improves to 13-10 on the season.

Eagles Split on the Day - Lose to Dartmouth, Beat Salem State
NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Husson University's volleyball team defeated Salem State and lost to U Mass Dartmouth in non-conference volleyball matches at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday. UMass Dartmouth defeated Husson, 25-15, 25-16 and 25-18. Husson rebounded with a victory over Salem State , 25-20, 25-22 and 25-20.

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. Husson University womens volleyball earned two victories at Saturday's quad-match against Johnson State and Lyndon State. With the wins, the Eagles improve to 4-1 in North Atlantic Confernece Play.

Mariners Clip Eagles
Castine, Maine - The Lady Mariner Volleyball team hosted the Husson University Eagles for a conference match-up Wednesday evening at Margaret Smith Gymnasium. MMA won the match 3-0 behind the trio of Chelsea Ward (Homer, AK), Amy Young (Cumberland, ME), and Jennifer Dixon (Woodstock, MD).

Bangor, ME The Husson Eagles were no match for the U. Maine Presque Isle Owls losing 15-25, 25-22,15-25, 18-25. With the loss, Husson falls to 4-8 on the season. The Owls were led by Michelle Ferry (Sr., Princeton, ME) who contributed 10 kills, 20 digs and 3 aces and Johannah Bubar (Jr., Riverview, NB) adding 8 kills, 3 aces, and 7 blocks.

Husson placed second in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) preseason coaches poll. The Eagles return two first team all-conference performers, senior Marion Kish (Wallingford, CT) and 2008 NAC Rookie of the Year Kaitlyn McKay (Lincoln, RI).

Armstrong Joins Volleyball Staff
Amanda Armstrong has been named assistant coach for the Husson University volleyball program. Armstrong was one of the top players for the U. Maine Orono before they dropped their program in 2008. This will be her first opportunity to coach at the college level.

Head Coach Pat Debeck has announced his 2009 captains for the Husson University volleyball team. Senior Marion Kish (Wallingford, CT) and sophomore Kaitlyn McKay (Lincoln, RI) have been named captains for the 2009 season.

Eagles Open The Season
Husson University volleyball team opens their season today at the Hartwick Invitational. 2008 NAC Coach of the Year Pat Debeck will look to build on their first NAC regular season title a year ago. The Eagles finished undefeated in NAC play (6-0) and 13-9 overall in 2008.

The Husson University womens volleyball game scheduled at Newman Gymnasium on September 9, 2009 at 7:00 pm against U. Maine Farmington will now be played AT U. Maine Farmington. Newman Gymnasium floor is being refinished and will not be completed in time to host the match.

Newman Gym Starts to Shine
View the progress of Newman Gymnasium floor. The first coat of polyurethane was applied to the floor and the nature grains of the maple floor are incredible. The next step will be to begin taping the floor for the volleyball and basketball lines to be painted. Check in this weekend to see how the floor is progressing.

Fall Athletes Arrive On Campus
The athletic fields will come alive as pre-season camp begins this week at Husson University as four sports report for the fall. Football, Womens Soccer, Mens Soccer, and Volleyball get under way this week. Student-athletes will move into the dorms and begin receiving physicals starting on Tuesday, August 18th with practices starting later this week.

Newman Gymnasium Floor Receiving Facelift
A long-planned renovation of the Newman Gymnasium floor has begun. The venerable floor turned 40 this year and was in dire need of a face lift. The current maple floor is one of the best in New England and when the first phase is completed, the wood grain will show its original characteristics.
