Monks Down Eagles 3-1

Bangor, ME - The Husson University Eagles played host to the St. Joseph's College Monks and dropped a 1-3 series at Husson's Newman Gymnasium.  Game scores for the match were 24-26, 25-15, 23-25, 15-25.  With the loss, Husson falls to 9-12 while St. Joseph's improves to 13-10 on the season.

St. Joseph's Sarah Hawkes (Fy., Pownal, ME) lead the Monks to victory with 9 kills, 4 aces, 16 digs and 5 solo blocks.  Also contributing to the Monks' victory was Caitlin Cleary (Fy., Scarborough, ME) with 6 kills, 3 aces and 11 digs.  For the Eagles, sophomore Kaitlyn McKay (Lincoln, RI) gave a strong showing with 13 kills and 13 digs.

The Monks return to action on October 16 at University of Massachusetts at Boston.  On October 17, the Eagles go on the road to Maine Maritime where they play conference matches against Thomas College at 2:00 and University of Maine at Farmington at 3:30.
