Amanda Armstrong has been named assistant coach for the Husson University volleyball program.   Armstrong was one of the top players for the U. Maine Orono before they dropped their program in 2008.  This will be her first opportunity to coach at the college level.  

Coach Armstrong has three years of Division I playing experience as one of U. Maine Orono top performers over the last three seasons. She was named to the American East Academic Honor Roll.

During this past summer she was an assistant coach for the High Performance Volleyball program in New York. Coach Armstrong helped coach selects (age 14 and under), youth (age 15-16), and juniors (17-18). She traveled with the junior team to coach them at the National Championships in Florida.

Coach Armstrong is finishing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts / Elementary Education at U. Maine Orono. She was a 3.5 Presidential Pin Award winner in the fall of 2008.
