Coach Wren began as head coach for Husson Swimming in 2008. He came to Husson after 37 years of experience coaching at the University of Maine. He was head women’s coach and assistant men’s coach from 1971-1990 and head coach of both programs from 1990-2007. He coached numerous New England and America East champions during his time there and won six New England team titles between 1978-1887.
In addition to his duties with the team, Coach Wren has taught all levels of aquatic programs from small children through adult beginners and masters swimming. New programming and aquatic experiences are one of his goals for the Husson Community.
Philosophically: “I am willing to work with anyone who wants to improve themselves. It is my goal with Husson Swimming to increase our participation and to make everyone better. In this way, the program will be something we can all be proud of.”
Coach Wren graduated from the College of William and Mary in
1971 and holds an M.Ed. from the University of Maine, 1974.
