Eagles Swim at New Englands

Husson took six swimmers to the NEISDA championships Feb 20-22 at UMass, Dartmouth. Kaitlyn Theriault and Erin Doucette qualified for individual events and Anna Marceau, Nicole Nadeau, Kelly Bernier and Renee Dufrense-Dixon attended so that Husson could be represented in all five relays.
The Eagles who swam had at least one performance that was significantly their best of the year. Five school records were broken and the first points were recorded since the 2006 championships. The relay records were the 200 Free Relay (155.80), the 200 Medley Relay(2:11.43) and 400 medley relay (452.74). In the 800 free relay, we recorded a time 15 seconds faster than the team record but unfortunately we committed an early take off.
The Eagles performed well in the 400 free relay where they came
close to the school record swimming without the two individual
qualifiers. Each member dropped their previous best 100 time by at
least 2 seconds.
Individually, Kaitlyn Theriault broke her own school record in the
500 free (5:58.90) and set a new mark in the 200 fly (2:37.30).
Erin Doucette narrowly missed making the night time finals in the
200 back and then went on to place in the bonus final of the 50 fly
finishing 14th (29.10) and she finished up the meet by winning the
consolation final (7th place overall) in the 100 IM (107.20).
