Husson Falls to Middlebury in NCAA Tournament
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. Husson University lost to Middlebury in an NCAA Regional match-up. Middlebury scored three goals in a span of 3:44 in the first half on its way to a 6-0 win over Husson. The Panthers will play Wheaton in the regional final on Sunday. Husson ends its season with a 15-6 mark, claiming their fourth straight NAC conference championship and trip to the NCAA tournament.

Women's Soccer Wins Forth Straight NAC Championship With 3-1 Win Over Castleton
Castleton, VT - Megan Clement (Brunswick, ME) scored a goal and assisted on another as Husson University defeated Castleton State College 3-1 in the 2009 North Atlantic Conference womens soccer championship at Spartan Stadium. With the win, the Eagles will return to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. Kylan Smith (Sr., Presque Isle, ME) was named the NAC Tournament's most valuable player.

Five Eagles Selected to NAC Womens Soccer All Conference Team
Five Husson University womens soccer players were selected to the North Atlantic Conference All-Conference Team. Shelby Bradford, (Sr., Lee, ME) and Alex Laniewski (So., Scarborough, ME) were selected to the First Team. Caitlyn Butterfield (Jr., Gorham, ME), Amy Sanz (Sr., Tyngsboro, MA) and Kylan Smith (Sr., Presque Isle, ME) were selected to the Second Team.

Meg Clement Named NAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Megan Clement (Jr., Brunswick, ME) was named North Atlantic Conference women's soccer player of the week. Clement scored two of Husson's three goals in their 3-0 NAC Semifinal win over Maine Maritime. Clement scored the game's first goal at point blank range off of a rebound in the box and collected her second goal of the day with a well placed strike from thirty yards out.

Husson to Host North Atlantic Conference Semifinal Oct. 31
Three-time defending North Atlantic Conference (NAC) champion Husson University earned the second seed and a first round bye in the upcoming NAC Womens Soccer Tournament. The Eagles, 13-5 (6-1 conf.) and ranked 9th in the most recent NCAA regional poll, have made four NCAA National Tournament appearances in the past six years. Husson will host the NAC semifinal match on October 31 at Boucher Field. Kickoff is set for 1:00.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 13-5 (6-1 conf.) and the Beavers fall to 7-9-1 (3-3-1 conf). With the win, the Eagles remain unbeaten at Boucher field 9-0.

Colby Squeaks By Husson 1-0 in Overtime
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Kate Pistel (Amherst, Mass.) scored the biggest goal of her young collegiate career on a breakaway in overtime to lead the Colby College womens soccer team to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Husson University on Tuesday. With the loss, Husson falls to 12-6 on the season.

Eagles in the Community
For Womens Soccer, the month of October has been one of classes, practices, games and service to the community. The Eagles hosted the Special Olympics of Maine Soccer Tournament on October 14 and wore pink to raise awareness for breast cancer this past homecoming weekend. For Head Coach Keith Bosley, the Eagles service activities provide a way to link the sport we love with social responsibility and exemplify the mission of Husson Athletics.

Bangor, ME Husson Universitys Shelby Bradford scored a first half hat trick in the Eagles 4-1 win over Johnson State. Bradfords trio of goals elevated her season tally to 13. With the win, Husson improves to 12-4 (5-1conf.) and Johnson State falls to 6-6-1 (1-3-1 conf.).

Husson University Womens soccer kicked off homecoming weekend with a 3-0 win against Lyndon State. With the win, Husson improves to 11-4 (4-1 conf) and Lyndon State falls to 7-7 (1-4 conf). In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Husson and Lyndon State wore pink throughout the game.

Husson improves to 10-3 on the season (3-0, NAC) while the Eagles fall to 3-6-1 (2-1-1).

Eagles Outmatch Monks 5-0
Bangor, ME The Husson University Eagles cruised to a 5-0 win over the St. Josephs College Monks. Shelby Bradford (Sr., Lee, ME) and Katelyn Coultier (So., Groventown, NH) each contributed a pair of goals in the Eagle victory. With two goals and two assists on the day, Bradford played a part in four of the five Eagle goals. Husson improves to 9-3 on the season and St. Josephs falls to 5-3-1.

Castine, Maine Husson University got a goal in the first minute and half of the match and held on for a 1-0 victory over Maine Maritime Friday evening at Ritchie Field. With the win Husson improves 2-0 in the NAC while MMA drops to 1-1 in conference play.

LEWISTON, Maine -- Husson University came from behind with two second-half goals to defeat the Bates College women's soccer team 2-1 in a rainy non-conference game on Wednesday at Russell Street Field. The Eagles moved to 7-3 on the season, while the Bobcats fell to 2-3-1 overall.

Three time defending NAC Champion Husson University was chosen as the league's early favorite in a poll by the conference coaches. The Eagles, who collected seven first place votes and 62 points, posted an undefeated mark of 7-0 in conference play last year.

Netting three goals in the first three minutes, Husson handled U. Maine Machias. Alexandra Laniewski (Scarborough, ME) kicked off the scoring from a Katie McLaughlin (Winslow, ME) cross. Laniewski knocked in four goals and one assist on the day elevating her season total to eight goals and three assists.

Husson University womens soccer has started the year 4-2 and is ranked #9 in the NSCAA New England Rankings. The Eagles victory over #10 Keene State in the opening weekend propelled Husson into the rankings. They will open NAC play on Saturday, September 19 against Thomas College at 3:00 pm.

Bangor, Maine Husson University managed just one goal but it proved to be enough to beat Mount Saint Mary 1-0 at John Boucher Field. Sophomore Alexandra Laniewski (Scarborough, ME) scored the games only goal for the Eagles. The Eagles dominated play outshooting Blue Knights 22-4.

Bengals Upset Eagles
Fort Kent, ME The University of Maine at Fort Kent upset the visiting Husson University Eagles 3-1 Thursday afternoon on Alumni Memorial Field in Fort Kent. UMFK was able to contain the 2008 NAC Champions for their first win of the season and recording their first win in school history over Husson.

The Husson University womens soccer team recorded a 6-1 win over U. Southern Maine at the John Boucher Field. Senior Shelby Bradford (Lee, ME) registered 2 goals and an assist for the Eagles on the perfect September day. The Eagles peppered the Huskies goal with 41 shots, 26 of them on goal.

Eagles Seek 4th Straight Title
Husson University womens soccer program enters the 2009 season seeking their 4th straight North Atlantic Conference title and trip to the NCAA III National Tournament. Head Coach Keith Bosley has a veteran team returning led by senior Shelby Bradford (Lee, ME). The Eagles were 16-5 a year ago with a 7-0 record in the NAC.
