Women's Lax Finishes


The women's lacrosse program wrapped up their first year of competition with a 6-6 record.  The Eagles finished 2nd in NAC play with a 3-1 record and played for the first ever NAC Championship in women's lacrosse losing to Castleton State 19-7. 

Husson was paced by Shelby Bradford (Jr, Lee, ME) with 60 points featuring 45 goals.  She led the nation in ground balls with 6.75 per game, 43rd in the nation in points per game, and 31st in draws controlled.  Jamie Ladd (Fy, Berlin, VT) and Caitlyn Butterfield (So, Gorham, ME) each finished with 28 points.  Nikki Burns (So, South Berwick, ME) handled the majority of the goal tending duties and allowed 12.92 goals per game. 

The Eagles finished 5th in the Nation in groundballs per game.  Butterfield was 5th in the Nation in groundballs as the Eagles place to student athletes in the top 5. 

Four members of the team were named 1st team All-NAC; Caitlin Ramsey (Jr, Berlin, NH), Shelby Bradford, Alex Huffman (So, Hampton, NH), and Caitlyn Butterfield.  Jami Ladd was named 2nd team All-NAC.  Butterfield was NAC Rookie of the Year and first year head coach Mark Hundhammer was NAC Coach of the Year. 

The Eagles carried 20 student athletes on the roster, many of which played lacrosse for the first time.  Here are a few quick facts for the history books; program's first goal - Rebecca Hatin (Jr, Jeffersonville, VT) vs Becker College, first win - Regis College 19-9, first conference win - U. Maine Farmington 15-5.
