Bradford Leads Nation

Shelby Bradford (Jr, Lee, ME) has put up some impressive numbers on the athletic field in soccer and basketball, two sports she has played all her life.  Bradford picked up lacrosse this season and continues to put up impressive numbers in a sport she has never played prior to this year.

Bradford leads the country in ground balls with 7.0 per game.  A ground ball in lacrosse is a loose ball on the ground that a player picks up and gains possession off.  Bradford is doing it better than anyone else in the country in NCAA III Women's Lacrosse.   Her 3.9 goals per game places her  #42 in the country.

Caitlyn Butterfield (So, Gorham, ME) is #5 in the nation with 5.4 ground balls per game.  As a team, the Eagles rank 3rd in the nation with 30.2 groundballs per game.  The Eagles are #23 in scoring defense allowing 8.7 goals per game while they are #47 in scoring offense with 14.1 goals per game.   Their scoring margin of 5.4 goals per game ranks them #28th in the country.

The first year program enters this week's play at 5-5 with one game left on their schedule against Thomas College today.
