Eagles Open NAC Play with Sweep

Bangor, ME - The Husson University Eagles won their first two North Atlantic Conference games of the season as they defeated the University of Maine-Farmington 4-3 and 7-0.  The game was suppose to take place at UMF, however due to field conditions was moved up to Husson. The Beavers played as the home team in the two games.  The second game was called in the top of the sixth due to darkness when Husson was batting.

In the first game, the Eagles erupted for three runs in the top of the second to gain a 3-0 lead.  The inning was highlighted with a two RBI single by Diann Ramsey (So. Otisfield, ME).  UMF would answer in the bottom of the inning with two runs of their own.  Whitney Page (Jr. Sorrento, ME) would have a two RBI single of her own.  After a scoreless third the Beaver's tied the game with a sacrifice fly from Mckell Barnes (So. Durham, ME).

The Eagles would answer back in the top of the fifth inning, when Megan Richard (So. Wilton, ME) would lead of the inning with a single.  After a sacrifice bunt to move Richard into scoring position, Caitlin LeBorgne (So. Scarborough, ME) would single home Richard, which proved to be the winning run.

In the second game, the Eagles took advantage of some throwing miscues by UMF to take a 2-0 lead.  Dottie Cameron (So. South Plainfield, NJ) had a RBI single in the inning.  In the fourth inning Richard lead off with a double.  Sarah Risser (Fy. Brewer, ME) would follow by hitting an RBI single.  The Eagles would score one run in the fifth and three runs in the top of the sixth, before the game would be called because of darkness, while Husson was still up in the sixth inning.
