Eagles To Host NAC Championship

After completing conference play with a perfect 14-0 mark, Husson University has earned the top seed in the upcoming NAC Softball Championship. The University of Maine-Farmington and Thomas finished tied for second in conference play with a 10-4 mark. Based on predetermined tiebreaking procedures, Thomas was awarded the second seed and the first round bye in the NAC Softball Championship.
Maine-Farmington (10-4 NAC, 14-11) will host sixth seed Johnson State (4-10 NAC, 9-16) when first round action begins Tuesday, April 28. The top six teams qualify for the NAC Championship. Fifth seed Lyndon State (6-8 NAC, 8-18) will travel to fourth seed Castleton (7-7 NAC, 13-17) in the other first round contest on Tuesday.
First round winners will advance to Husson for a double-elimination tournament with contests beginning Friday, May 1. Husson will meet the winner of Castleton and Lyndon State in the first contest on Friday at 10:00 am. Thomas would play the Maine-Farmington/Johnson State winner in the second game at 12:00 pm.
The top six teams qualify for the NAC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams. Game times are subject to change. The NAC Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.
