Softball Soars in 2009
The Eagles capped off a great year with a NAC title and a trip to the NCAA New England Regional. They finished the year undefeated in NAC play going 14-0 during the regular season and sweeping the NAC Tournament in three games.

Endicott Eliminates Husson
BEVERLY, Mass. Endicott College cranked out 18 hits, including a 4-for-4 effort from sophomore Ashley Wright (Merrimack, N.H.), as the Gulls rallied from a five run deficit to eliminate Husson University, 11-6, on Friday morning in NCAA Regional Tournament action in Beverly, Mass. The win improves the Gulls to 38-8 overall and pushes them into a Saturday match-up with the loser of Fridays Coast Guard vs. Springfield contest.

Eagles Fall in 1st Round NCAA
BEVERLY, Mass. Tufts University wasted no time in their pursuit of an NCAA Division III Regional Softball Championship as the Jumbos defeated Husson University, 17-1, in game one of the Regional Championships held on the campus of Endicott College on May 7th. The Jumbos (39-1) used a 10-run third inning to take down the Eagles (26-15) and move onto the winners portion of the bracket.

Eagles Draw Tufts in NCAA's
Husson University softball team will enter the NCAA III East Regional as the #8 seed and will take on #1 seeded Tufts University in the 1st round of the NCAA III National Softball Tournament on Thursday, May 7 at 10:00 am. Endicott College will host the 8-team regional site.

NAC Softball Championship Day 2 Results
Bangor, Maine = Mckell Barnes (So. Durham, ME) powered the University of Maine-Farmington past Thomas College 8-4 in an elimination game in the North Atlantic Conference Championship. Barnes finished the game going 3-3 with two homeruns, a double and seven RBIs.

Husson Wins NAC Championship
The Husson University Eagles scored four runs in the first inning as that proved to be all they needed as they defeated the University of Maine-Farmington 7-3 to win their first ever North Atlantic Conference Championship. The Eagles improve to 26-14, while Farmington ends their season with a 17-13 record. Husson will go on to represent the NAC in the NCAA DIII National Tournament.

Sargent Lifts Eagles Past Castleton
Bangor, Maine In the opening game of the NAC Softball Championship top seed Husson University cruised to a 8-0 win over #4 seed Castleton State. Nicky Sargent (So, Sullivan, ME) pitched the shutout and provided a 3 run homerun to pace the Eagles.

Eagles Advance to Championship
Bangor, Maine - Nicky Sargent (So. Sullivan, ME) propelled Husson University into the championship round with a seventh inning two-run homerun, which broke a 4-4 tie. Husson went on to shut down the U. Maine-Farmington in the bottom of the inning to win 6-4.

Bangor, ME Husson University split with Bates College 9-5 and 4-8 today at OKeefe Field. Megan Richards (So, Wilton, ME) had two hits and drove in 4 RBI in the win for the Eagles.

Eagles To Host NAC Championship
After completing conference play with a perfect 14-0 mark, Husson University has earned the top seed in the upcoming NAC Softball Championship. The University of Maine-Farmington and Thomas finished tied for second in conference play with a 10-4 mark. Based on predetermined tiebreaking procedures, Thomas was awarded the second seed and the first round bye in the NAC Softball Championship.

Husson Finishes NAC Regular Season Undefeated
Bangor, ME The Husson University Eagles ended their North Atlantic Conference regular season play with two wins over Johnson State on Sunday afternoon. Husson defeated Johnson 12-2 in the first game and 20-2 in the second. With the wins Husson finishes ranked number one in the NAC with a perfect 14-0 record. The Eagles improve to 22-13 overall. Johnson State falls to 4-10 in NAC play and 9-16 overall. Husson finishes up the regular season on Wednesday with a home double header against Bates College, starting at 4:00.

Husson Clinches Second Straight NAC Regular Season Title
Bangor, ME Husson University swept Lyndon State College on Saturday afternoon, clinching their second straight NAC Regular Season Title. Husson won the first game 5-3 and the second game 3-2. Husson improves to 20-13 overall and 13-1 in NAC play. Lyndon State falls to 7-15 on the season and 5-7 in the NAC.

FARMINGTON, Maine -- The University of Maine at Farmington softball team won 5-3 in the opener, but fell 5-2 in the nightcap in a non-conference doubleheader against North Atlantic Conference foe Husson University today at Prescott Field.

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Alex Essman (Littlton, Mass.) led the offense with three hits and Brittany Tasi (Shelton, Conn.) earned her sixth victory of the season for the Colby College softball team in an 8-2 victory over Husson College on Thursday at Crafts Field.

Bangor, ME Husson University won their 14th game in a row as they swept Maine Maritime Academy. The Eagles improve to 17-11 and remain undefeated in NAC play with a 10-0 record. MMA falls to 3-17 overall and 1-9 in the NAC. Husson took the first game in five innings 9-0 and won the second game 9-3.

Softball Wins Eighth Straight
Bangor, ME The Husson University Eagles swept the University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls on Wednesday. Husson won the first game 9-0 in five innings and the second game 9-2. With the two victories, the Eagles win their eighth straight game and improve to 11-11 on the season, while the Owls fall to 9-9.

Sargent Powers Eagles
Bangor, ME Nicole Sargent (So. Sullivan, ME) powered the Husson University Eagles to a North Atlantic Conference sweep over Thomas College. Sargent pitched all seven innings of the first game, giving up one run on four hits, one walk and two strikeouts. In the second game Sargent hit a walk off homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning. Husson won the first game 2-1 and the second game 8-7. The Eagles improve to 9-11 overall and 4-0 NAC. The Terriers fall to 5-11 overall and 2-2 NAC.

Eagles Sweep NEC
Henniker, N.H. New England College softball dropped two games to the visiting Husson College Eagles Thursday afternoon, falling 1-8 in game one and dropping game two 2-8. With the two wins the Eagles improved to 7-11 on the season, while the losses drop the Pilgrims to 7-11 overall.

Eagles Open NAC Play with Sweep
Bangor, ME The Husson University Eagles won their first two North Atlantic Conference games of the season as they defeated the University of Maine-Farmington 4-3 and 7-0. The game was suppose to take place at UMF, however due to weather was moved up to Husson; The Beavers played as the home team in the two games. The second game was called in the top of the sixth due to darkness when Husson was batting.

OWLS SWEEP HUSSON
KEENE, N.H. 4/5/09 The Keene State softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader over Husson University at blustery Owl Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Courtney Savoie (Stratham, N.H.) tossed a complete game five-hitter as KSC won the opener 4-0. Senior Katie Allenson (Clifton Park, N.H.) drove in the go ahead run in the bottom of the ninth inning with a grounder deep in the shortstop hole in the Owls 8-7 come-from-behind victory in the second game.

Husson Splits with Bowdoin
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin and Husson softball teams split a doubleheader on Saturday at Pickard Field in Brunswick with the Polar Bears taking game one, 7-2, before the Eagles prevailed in game two, 4-2. The contests marked the home-openers for the Polar Bears, who stand at 13-8 overall this season. Husson is 3-8 overall on the year.

Softball Season Preview
Featuring a mix of experienced returners and talented newcomers, the 2009 Husson University Eagles look to continue their growth as a team and make their first regional appearance. The Eagles return eight, including six starters, in addition to adding 7 newcomers. Although the Eagles are youthful 13 of the 15 players on the roster are either freshman or sophomores head coach Amanda Davey likes the makeup of the team.

Softball Picked #1 in NAC Preseason Poll
Husson University was chosen as the leagues top team entering the 2009 season in a preseason poll conducted with the coaches. The Eagles return six starters from a team that went 17-3 in conference play and 30-12 overall. Husson received seven first place votes and 63 points.

Lesley Elimates Eagles
Bangor, ME â In the first game of the second day of the NAC Tournament, number two Lesley University beat Husson College 10-4, knocking the Eagles out of the tournament. The Eagles finished their season with a record of 30-12. With the win Lesley improves to 28-10.
