Husson University Head Coach Seth Brown has named captains for the 2009 men's soccer team.  The three seniors are from the state of Maine; Billy Shannon (Newburg, ME), Justin Gauvin (Brunswick, ME), and Mark Trombley (Burnham, ME). 

Shannon was a 1^st Team All-NAC selection a year ago and returns to anchor the defense.  The Newburg native attended Hampden Academy.  Shannon also plays baseball and is studying Physical Education. 

Gauvin is studying Computer Information Systems graduating from Brunswick High School.  He is also a defender, giving the Eagles two veterans on defense.  The Eagles as a team only allowed 2.08 goals per game in 2008. 

Mark Trombley is majoring in Business Administration and attended Maine Central Institute.  He was the Eagles 3^rd leading scorer last season registering 3 goals and 4 assists. 

The Eagles open their season on the road against U. Maine Fort Kent on Tuesday, September 1 at 4:30 pm.  U. Maine Fort Kent is ranked #8 in the NAIA Preseason Poll.
