Men's Lacrosse Downs Badgers, 14-2

Johnson, VT - Husson closed out the regular season with a resounding North Atlantic Conference win over Johnson State on Saturday afternoon. Brandon Corbo (Merrimack, NH) and Brandon Bosse (Waterboro, ME) each netted three goals to power Husson to the 14-2 win. The Eagles improve to 4-7, 4-4 NAC, while the Badgers dropped to 0-9, 0-7 in the NAC.

Corbo and Bosse were supported by teammates Nolan Brown (Waterford, CT), who netted two goals with one assist, and Kevin Nolan (Norwood, MA), who contributed two goals with one assist as well. Fellow Eagle Vinny Visconti (North Andover, MA) helped out with two assists. The Eagles dominated throughout the game, winning 12 of 18 face-offs and attacked impressively with 37 shots.

Dalton Gomez and Matt Dekens each scored once for Johnson State.

Goalkeeper Jay Palmisano had a solid outing with 15 saves for the Badgers. Eric Lund (Mansfield, MA) made nine saves in the Eagles' victory.

Husson opened the game with a 3-0 lead, all three goals coming from Bosse, before Matthew Malek found Dekens early in the second quarter for the Badgers' first goal. A few minutes later, Zach Shuttle found Gomez to score Johnson's second and final goal of the game. Husson scored the game's next ten goals unanswered to cruise to the victory.

The Eagles were impressive defensively with ten turnovers caused as well as going 16 for 16 in clearing. 

"With a lot of our major players still feeling ill on Saturday, our bench players stepped up and got things done," said Head Coach Marsh Gray, "It was great to see our freshmen and sophomores out there giving it their all and having success. I'll be giving these guys a couple days to get healthy and then we'll be getting back to work in preparation for the NAC Tournament."

Husson will await its seeding in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse tournament.
