Husson/Nescom Athlete to Work for ESPN During X-Games
Bangor, ME – Ben Gilbert, member of the Husson Men's Lacrosse and Soccer programs, will be traveling to Aspen, Colorado in the coming weeks to be a production assistant for ESPN's X-Games. Gilbert, a native of Bourne Massachusetts, is a video production major at the New England School of Commuications and has been one of the first students of NESCom to play sports in a Husson uniform.
Gilbert will be a Production Assistant for ESPN. Gilbert stated: "I'll do whatever needs to get done." In past years Gilbert has been in charge of brining the gold medal athletes to and from their interview and then to the live SportsCenter set. Last year he conducted the interview with the winning athletes and then logged the tapes into the computer for a show to air later after the X-Games were over. This year Ben will be in one of ESPN's mobile trucks that is responsible for covering all the events in the Half Pipe and on the Freestyle course.
Gilbert was a member of the Husson men's soccer team that won the NAC championship in the fall and is looking forward to his first season with the men's lacrosse team as their first contest falls on February 26th, at home at the newly renovated John P. Boucher Field.
