Coach Mattoon Prepares Danish Lacrosse National Team
Husson University Men’s Lacrosse Coach Jeremy Mattoon returned to Europe and spent last week in Denmark where he is serving as an assistant coach for the Danish Men’s Lacrosse National Team that is preparing for the 2010 Men’s World Lacrosse Championship to be held in Manchester, England July 10 – 24, 2010. Mattoon will be the offensive coordinator for the team. While in Copenhagen with the team he spent his time familiarizing himself with the players, running a training camp and making general preparations for competition.

Karpak Named to NAC All-Conference Team
The Eagles top defensive men Travis Karpak was named to the men's lacrosse All-NAC Honorable Mention team. Karpak a first year player from Middlebury, Vermont anchored the defense and helped lead the first year program to three wins.

Men's LAX Future Looks Bright
The men’s lacrosse program finished up their inaugural with a 4-9 record. The Eagles compiled a 3-6 NAC record which earned them the #7 seed in the NAC Tournament. They lost to #2 seed Mount Ida College 23-3; Mount Ida has made 5 straight trips to the NCAA National Tournament.

Husson Falls in NAC Quarter Final
Saturday, April 25, 2009 – (Newton, Massachusetts) - In today’s opening quarterfinal round of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men’s lacrosse tournament, Mount Ida College rolled over visiting Husson University 23-3 on a hot and humid Saturday afternoon in Newton, Massachusetts. The Mustangs move on to the semifinal round and will host Maine Maritime Academy this coming Wednesday who beat Thomas College 12-5 today. Mount Ida improves to 11-6 overall, 9-1 in the NAC while the 2009 season road ends for the Eagles at 4-9, 3-7 in conference competition.

Thomas Nips Husson 9-7
WATERVILLE, Maine—In Thomas College’s final home game of the season, the men’s lacrosse team was able to pull out a 9-7 victory over North Atlantic Conference rival Husson University to sweep the season series. The Terriers would earn the victory on Senior Day for PJ Strebel (Newport, NH) and Cliff Juntura (Topsham, ME) by outshooting the visiting Eagles 54-36 on the afternoon.

Castleton, VT - Castleton State College battled through 30 minutes of even lacrosse with Husson, but the seasoned Spartans proved to be too much down the stretch and defeated the young Eagles 15-6 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action Saturday afternoon

Bangor, Maine – Mount Ida topped Husson University 18-4 in men’s lacrosse at the Boucher Field. Matthew Savage (So, Peabody, MA) scored four goals to pace the Mustangs.

Eagles Roll Past Green Mountain
Bangor, Maine – Husson University rolled to a 26-5 victory over Green Mountain College in men’s lacrosse action on Boucher Field. Nine different Eagles scored with Ben Landry (Fy, Lewiston, ME) leading the way with 7 goals and 1 assist.

Emerson Beats Eagles 12-5
BOSTON, MASS. – Josh Anderson (So., Underhill Center, Vt.) scored five goals, and Joe Greaney (Sr., Medfield, Mass.) had a pair of goals and added five assists to lead the Emerson college Lions over the Husson University Hawks by a score of 12-5 in a North Atlantic conference men’s lacrosse match at Emerson’s Rotch Field.

Hawks Nip Eagles
Bangor, ME – The Becker College Hawks used a late surge to edge the Husson University Eagles in a Men’s Lacrosse game at Husson University on Saturday. Alec Abrahamson (Fy. Dedham, MA) of Becker scored with 1:17 remaining to tie the game at nine a piece. With 41 seconds left Becker would score again on a Josh Fask (Jr. Worcester, MA) goal, assisted by Jon Nesson (Fy. Levittown, PA). Becker would go on to win 10-9.

Eagles Fly by Monks
PORTLAND, ME - Saint Joseph's (2-4, 0-3 NAC) held a 9-7 lead over Husson University (3-2, 2-1) going into the intermission, but the Eagles outscored the Monks 8-3 in the second half to secure a 15-12 conference victory at Deering Memorial Field on Monday evening. Paul Dolewa '12 (Saco, ME) led St. Joe's offensively with five goals and an assist in the losing effort.

Johnson State Rallies Past Eagles
Bangor, ME – The Johnson State Badgers jumped out to a 6-2 lead after one quarter of play, to coast to a 13-7 win over the Husson University Eagles. With the win Johnson State improves to 1-1, while the Eagles fall to 2-2. Johnson State now has a 1-1 NAC record, and Husson University has a 1-1 NAC record.

Eagles Fall in Overtime
Bangor, ME – The Thomas College Terriers started off strong, scoring four of the first five goals. However, the Husson University Eagles who have a strong second half and held Thomas scoreless in the fourth quarter, led by goalie Matt Linnell who made three saves. With 6:04 left in the fourth quarter and the Eagles down by one, attack Ben Landry scored an unassisted goal, forcing overtime. With 2:19 left in the first overtime, Thomas College’s Jeremy Parmley scored his own unassisted goal to defeat the Husson Eagles.

Husson Rolls Past Lyndon
Bangor, ME – The Husson University Eagles improved their record to 2-0 as they cruised past the Lyndon State College Hornets, 22-11. After a close first half, with Husson holding a 10-7 lead, the Eagles would go on to outscored the Hornets 12-4 in the second half.

Bangor, ME – Husson University Men’s Lacrosse picked up a 14-6 win over Anna Maria College in the Eagles first ever contest. Ben Landry (FY, Lewiston, ME) paced the Eagles with four goals and two assists.

Men's LAX Plays 1st Game
The men’s lacrosse program will play their first game in program’s history, Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 pm. The Eagles will square off against another first year program Anna Maria College.

NAC Preseason Poll Announced
Five-time defending champion Mount Ida College has been chosen as the preseason favorite of the North Atlantic Conference in a vote conducted by the league’s coaches. The Mustangs received nine first place votes and 99 total points

Eagles Take Flight
The Husson University Men's Lacrosse team took the field for the very first time on Sunday, February 8th against the University Of Maine-Orono in pre-season action. The scrimmage was played at the Mahaney Dome, also known as the "Bubble", on the University of Maine Orono campus.

Men's Lacrosse Season Preview
Husson University enters its’ first year as a Division III Lacrosse Program in the spring of 2009. The team is led by its inaugural head coach, Jeremy Mattoon, who arrived on campus December 8, 2008. Husson Lacrosse will field a team of 25 players from throughout New England. Some of the players have extensive experience on the lacrosse field and others are fairly new to the game.

Jeremy Mattoon has been named Husson University's first Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. The program will begin play this spring. Mattoon has an excellent background in Lacrosse.
