Golf Finishes Third at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Championship


Brewster, MA - Husson University Men's Golf finished third in Division III at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Championship (NEIGA) with a score of 627.  Salem State finished first in Division III scoring 609 and was closely followed by Trinity College with 610.  The Eagles are the 2009 North Atlantic Conference Champions for the fourth straight year and will compete in the NCAA National Tournament this spring.  Husson won eight straight tournaments this season and finished the fall winning eight of nine tournaments.

 Husson finished thirteenth overall in the forty team tournament comprised of NCAA Divisions I, II and III.  Ben Estabrook (Sr., Bangor, ME) shot the lowest Eagle score, carding 153 on the two day tournament.  Kevin Byrne (Jr., Winslow, ME) finished with a total score of 155.  Estabrook and Byrne both shot rounds of 75 on the par 72 Captian's Golf Course.
