Coach MacGregor Recieves NEIGA Award
The Eagles had a solid tournament this week finishing 2nd
against the NCAA III schools and tied for 7th overall in the 44
team field. Head Coach Bruce MacGregor was recognized for his 18
years of coaching by the NEIGA.
Coach MacGregor was awarded the “Gordon McCullough”
Award. The award was established in 1992 for recognition of
outstanding service to New England golf as the “New England
Coach Honoree.”
The award presented to Coach MacGregor states – The NEIGA
recognizes your 18 years of outstanding dedication to college golf.
Your teams have responded in an exemplary manner at local,
regional, and national levels both in the NAIA and NCAA competition
by your leadership skills you have the respect of your players and
fellow NEIGA coaches.
“The credit goes to the student athletes we have had in the
program. We have been blessed with good people who love the game of
golf.” States Coach MacGregor. “We are honored to be
recognized for our efforts.”
The Eagles won 10 out of 11 tournaments this season, including the
Maine State Intercollegiate Championship and the North Atlantic
Conference Championship. By winning the NAC Championship they will
make their 2nd trip to the NCAA III National Tournament (2007 &
2008).
