Beavers Push Past Eagles

Husson University lost a closely matched field hockey game against University of Maine at Farmington 2-1. With the loss, the Eagles drop to 2-7 (2-3 conf) and U. Maine Farmington improves to 6-6 (3-1 conf).
The Eagles scored their only goal with 11:21 on the clock in the first half. Emily Woodbury (Jr., Burnham, ME) notched the goal and was assisted by Jillian Morin (Jr., Manchester, ME).
Ten minutes into the second half, Alyssa St. Pierre (Sr., Jay, ME) evened the score at 1-1. Ashely Wenteworth (Sr., North Berwick, ME) earned the assist. The game would remain tied until a Beaver corner at the 60:25 minute mark provided the game winning goal. Emma Deans (Jr., Gorham, ME) collected the ball off of the corner and put it in the back of the Eagle cage.
The Eagles outshot the Beavers 18-12 but could not string together a goal after the first half. University of Maine at Farmington goalkeeper Sarah Brown (Jr., Windham, ME) had five saves while Husson's Kristen Capen (Fy., Leeds, ME) notched three saves on the game.
The Husson Eagles return to action at home on Sunday, October 18 at 1:00 with a conference game against Thomas College. Game time is set for 1:00. University of Maine at Farmington is scheduled to host Thomas College on Wednesday at 3:30.
