Head coach Katie Flaherty has announced captains for the 2009 Field Hockey team.  The three captains are Lindsay Barnes (Sr, Owls Head, ME), Jenika Kelley (Sr, Livermore Falls, ME), and Jillian Morin (Jr, Manchester, ME). 

Kelly was a 1^st team All-NAC selection and started in every game last season.  She anchored a defense which yielded 3.21 goals a game last season.  Barnes started 14 games and controlled the midfield with her steady play.  Morin scored three goals on the year and is one of the Eagles top returning scorers.  She also started in 14-16 games last season.

"All three captains show great leadership on and off the field."  States head coach Katie Flaherty.  "Lindsay has been a leader by example for the team with hard work on the field and great discipline in the classroom.  Jenika brings much experience and will lay it all on the line for her team.  Jillian has great skill coupled with hard work and will no doubt be a great leader. "

The Eagles finished 8-8 last season and lost in the NAC Semi-Finals.  The will need to replace 4 all conference performers.  Erica Dorso (Farmingdale, ME) the program's all time leading scorer was a 1^st team All-NAC member.  Krystal Doughty (Lisbon Falls, ME) was a three year starter and a 1^st all NAC selection.  Michelle Barden (Newport, ME) and Elisha Dorso (Farmingdale, ME) were both on the 2^nd team All-NAC.   The four combined for 37 out of the 57 goals scored on the season.
