![]() Six Eagles Earn ECFC All-Academic HonorsThe Husson University football team placed six Eagles on the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) All-Academic Team. The ECFC leading six All-Academic Team members include Keenon Blindow (Sr., Morgan, VT), Jack Hersom (So., Me), Mike Hersom (So., Sidney, ME), Tom Hersom (So., Sidney, ME), Kyle Vanedestine (So., Bangor, ME), and James Wood (So., Winslow, ME). To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and have participated for a minimum of two years with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. [read more]![]() The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced its 2009 all-conference teams following a vote of the conference coaches. Julius Williams (Sr., Boston, MA) and Jon Benson (Sr., Biddeford, ME) were named to the First Team Offense. Bobby Gilbert (Sr., Beaver Cove, ME) was selected to the First Team Defense and Keenon Blindow (Sr., Morgan, VT) was selected to the Second Team Defense. [read more] Bangor, ME -- On a day in which Husson University honored its football seniors, one stood above the rest. Julius Juice Williams (Sr., Boston, MA) scored two touchdowns and amassed 250 yards on 16 carries. Williams' two touchdowns were Hussons first two of the day, and the Eagles would not look back, defeating the Hawks of Becker College 74-22. [read more] With Mount Ida College trailing by one point with 3:52 to go in the fourth quarter, Mustang sophomore running back Johrone Bunch (Meriden, CT/F.T. Maloney) punched in the winning two point conversion to give the Mustangs a 29-28 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference victory over visiting Husson University this Saturday on Halloween. The Eagles had a chance to win the game on a 21 yard field goal with 1:21 remaining in the contest, but missed wide right to preserve the win for the hosts. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 3-5, 2-3 in conference play. [read more] Chris Dalecki (So., Elliot, ME) was named Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) defensive player of the week. Dalecki contributed 7.5 tackles including three sacks in Husson's 35-20 win over Castleton. On the season, Dalecki has45.5 total tackles. Dalecki is a business management major. [read more] |
