Adams and Folsom Take Home Legion Honors
Husson University's pitcher Nate Adams and assistant baseball coach
Jason Folsom were honored by the American Legion Zone 1 last week
taking home two of the top awards. Adams (SO, Frankfort, ME)
was named Player of the Year by the zone's eleven coaches and
Folsom was selected as Coach of the Year.
Adams batted .434 for Steamboat Petroleum of Waldo County with seven homeruns and 25 RBI's. He also went 2-3 on the mound with a 2.55 ERA and 2 saves. Adams recorded 52 strikeouts in 42 innings of work on his way to the Player of the Year award.
In the spring, Adams was 7-2 on the mound with a 3.26 ERA for the Eagles. Husson earned their first trip to the NCAA New England Regional where they went 2-2. The Eagles beat Babson 10-3 behind Adams complete game effort, he struck out 9 and walked 4 keeping Husson alive in the tournament.
Folsom, an assistant coach under Jason Harvey, guided Hampden American Legion team to a 15-5 regular season en route to its second straight trip to the state tournament. Folsom earned his first Coach of the Year honor.
