Baseball Has a Historic Season

The Eagles capped of a historic season with two wins at the NCAA III New England Regional. Head Coach Jason Harvey's squad set a new program record for wins in a season (33-14) and won their first NAC title.
Husson was the #7 seed at the NCAA III New England Regional and took the #2 seed U. Southern Maine (ranked #1 in the Nation) to extra innings before falling 5-4 in the 10th inning. The Eagles rebounded with wins over #6 Westfield State (10-3) and #8 Babson College (10-6). As one of the last four teams standing, the Eagles faced #1 seed and host Eastern Conn College in an elimination game. ECSU ended the historic run 18-3.
Nick Arthers (Sr, Belfast, ME) was named NAC Player of the Year and 2nd team All-New England on his way to hitting .416 with 11 HR, 17 2B, 3 3B, and a new program record 67 RBIs. Kyle Vanidestine (Fy, Bangor, ME) took home NAC Rookie of the Year honors hitting .312 with 9 2B, 26 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases. Arthers and Vanidestine were named 1st team All-NAC along with Nathan Adams (FY, Frankfort, ME), Ethan Guerette (So, Wales, ME) and Chris Maguire (So, Bucksport, ME).
Adams led the team in wins (7-2), strikeouts (69) and ERA (3.26), pitching the Eagles to a win in the NCAA III New England Regional. Guerette hit .330 with 17 2B and 26 stolen bases, he has stole 27 straight bases (dating back to last year) without getting caught good for the 7th best streak in the country. Guerette was named to the New England Regional All-Tournament team. Maguire batted .307 with 11 2B and 33 RBIs.
Chris Pease was named 2nd team All-NAC going 6-2 on the year. He battled his way to a win over Babson in the NCAA III New England Regional. Tom Crews (So, Bangor, ME) was named MVP of the NAC Tournament. Crews went 6-for-14 with two doubles, a homerun and five runs batted in to lead the Eagles. Crews was also phenomenal in the field, making several highlight reel catches and gunning down two runners at home plate.
