New Husson Look For Webber Pool

Webber Pool at Husson University will sport a new look this fall. The 40 year old structure received a makeover this summer complete with new lights, new lane lines and flags, signage and a little paint. The new look to the pool area is completely done in the new green and gold to give it an Eagles feel. The renovations will aid the women's swim team entering their 5th year of competition in developing into one of the top NCAA III programs in New England.
Aquatics Director and Women's Swim Coach Jeff Wren has spearheaded the project to transform the Webber Pool into a Husson look. New lights were installed last week to brighten the pool area and bring the freshly painted walls to life. A six foot Husson "H" is now on the back wall and is one of the first things you notice as you enter the pool balcony. Later this month, the words Husson University will be mounted on the opposite wall in gold painted lettering.
"Coach Wren and staff have done wonderful work in the Webber Pool. Everyone has pulled together to make all these exterior and interior pool projects happen. It's a much improved facility and enhances the athletic complex" states Director of Athletics Cindy Connelley
In addition to the pool area, the foyer outside the pool balcony has been freshly painted and the NCAA logo and Husson "H" are proudly displayed. Action pictures of the swim team have been mounted on the wall making it a great entrance into the pool balcony. The foyer is now a great space for students, guest and a place where small receptions can be held.
The Women's Swim team now has a pool they can now call their own. Coach Wren begins his second season at the helm with an 8 meet schedule including two home events, October 21st vs Saint Joseph's College and November 21st vs U. New England. The Eagles will look to return their entire roster from a year ago and have 8 new swimmers to add to the 2010 roster.
