The Husson University Field Hockey team began their season Wednesday night with a 4-0 win over Thomas College. The defending North Atlantic Conference Champions picked up where they left off with a decisive win that featured two Courtney Allen goals (Sr., Gardiner, ME). Bangor, ME – The Husson University men’s soccer team opened their 2010 season with a 6-0 loss to the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Wednesday afternoon. "Upwards Together"

The Husson University Eagles kicked off their academic year with the start of fall classes today. With seven defending conference champions, the 2010-2011 Husson horizon is full of academic and athletic promise. Director of Athletics Bob Reasso met with all student-athletes to rally the Eagles for the upcoming year, imparting the theme, “Upwards Together.” The year’s first home action will occur on Wednesday when men’s soccer competes at Boucher field at 3:00 against The University of Maine at Fort Kent. Shelby Bradford Named Female Athlete of the Week


Shelby Bradford (Sr., Lee, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Tournament MVP and led the Eagles to their first ever NAC East Championship. Bradford amassed 13 goals, 4 assists, 32 groundballs, 23 draw controls, and 9 caused turnovers in three wins last week.

Ryan Arsenault Named Male Athlete of the Week


Ryan Arsenault (Jr., Portland, ME) recorded two complete game wins this week against Bowdoin and Castleton. Arsenault threw eight innings allowing just two runs in Husson's win over Castleton. Arsenault gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out three for the complete game win. Arsenault also collected a complete game win against Bowdoin, pitching 9 innings and striking out 11 while allowing 2 earned runs.
