The Husson University Athletic Department is joining the WBCA (Women's Basketball Coaches Association) "Pink Zone" initiative at their home men's and women's basketball games on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Newman Gym.

The Eagles will host Johnson State College with the men's game beginning at 6:00 pm and the women's tip-off at 8:00pm. Both teams will wear pink tee shirts to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court and in the community. Admission to the game is free and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be taking donations at the door. All funds raised will be donated to the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund.

"Think Pink is a focused effort to celebrate heroes and heroines in their struggles against breast cancer." Husson University Athletic Director Cindy Connelley States. "Kay Yow's recent passing after her heroic fight makes this year's "Think Pink" effort more special."

Attend the games on Friday, February 13th and you could catch an Eagles Pink Zone T-shirt. Cheerleaders will be tossing pink tee shirts into the crowd during the two games.

The WBCA began the WBCA Pink Zone, formerly known as "Think Pink", in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities.
